Ingredients:
2 boxes traditional lasagna noodles (do NOT use ready to bake ones, please. I beg you)
2 40 oz Ragu Traditional spaghetti sauce
2 lbs Cooked Ground Italian Sausage
1 lb Cooked Ground Turkey (you can use beef too)
1 yellow onion minced
5 minced garlic cloves
2 TBS Basil (I prefer fresh, but dried will do fine)
3 TBS Italian Seasoning
1 lb Italian Blend Cheese
1 lb Shaved Parmesean
3 eggs
1 20 oz low fat ricotta cheese
1 8oz low fat cottage cheese
20 oz water
Directions:
1) In a large skillet, cook your meat, seasonings, garlic and onion all together until cooked
through. Set off heat
2) In a large baking dish coat bottom with thin layer of equal parts water and sauce.
3) In a large mixing bowl, combine your cheeses and eggs until well blended
4) Begin to layer your noodles in your baking dish in this order: sauce/water, noodles, meat, cheese, repeat
5) Top final layer with cheese
6) Bake at 375F for 1 hour or until cooked through
*yields two lasagnas; I suggest making the second in a freezer safe dish to save for another time.
